Our History

Sri. R. Rajeshwar Reddy and P.Venkat reddy are the founders of Pragathi Degree College for women was started with an aim to impart quality education to the girl students of Hyderabad and Rangareddy district in the year 1991.

pragathi was established in 1991 by "Navayuga Educational Society" , a non-profit educational society, with a vision and noble objective of providing higher education at economic cost for women in the backward segment of Hyderabad city. The main objective of the institution is to promote quality education. 40% of the seats at the UGC level are reserved for the students coming from rural areas, backward and minority communities. Several innovative programmes are offered periodically through: like Value added add-on career oriented courses. The college engaged highly qualified and committed faculty. College is located in a pollution free congenial environment functioning in own building with good infrastructure. The college has spacious classrooms, an audio-visual lab and a special computer lab.

In today's academic environment, most students, especially the girl students, are guided in their choices by their parents. This may be inadequate. The idea is to create an environment where the students can get academic education and knowledge of the practical world, hone their social and communication skills, gain knowledge of career opportunities, come to grips with their own personality and grow psychologically strong. Pragathi Degree College is an embodiment of this vision. For this purpose the students are given regular project work and assignments. Seminars are conducted frequently to enhance their ability to cope with and prepare them for life-like situations.
